Our Mission
Leave No Soldier Behind.
The Melvin Morris Veteran Assistance Program — M-VAP — is a non-profit organization based in Cocoa, Florida, dedicated to serving veterans and their families throughout Brevard County.
Founded by veteran Melvin Morris, M-VAP was born from a firsthand understanding of the challenges veterans face when they return home — from navigating complex VA benefits to finding community, employment, and mental health support.
Today, M-VAP operates six core programs spanning peer support, resource navigation, employment assistance, education, suicide prevention, and emergency financial aid. Every program is built around one guiding principle: no veteran or family member should face their battles alone.
What We Stand For
Our Core Values
Honor
We honor the sacrifice of every veteran and their family by showing up with integrity, consistency, and deep respect for their service.
Compassion
Every veteran who walks through our doors is met with empathy and genuine care — no judgment, no bureaucracy, just people helping people.
Community
We believe veterans heal best in community. M-VAP exists to build and sustain a network where no veteran ever feels alone.
Action
We don't just talk about helping veterans — we show up. From emergency financial aid to peer support, we take direct, meaningful action.
